Great Painters Spotlight: Project Home

Your Task

Choose a Painter: You must declare your chosen painter before you begin your research to be approved.

Look for background information: You may photocopy from a resource or copy form a Web page. We will be within legal requirements by citing the source-giving proper documentation. Rewrite information to make it easy to be understood by the viewer. Utilize three to five sources. All information is to be presented on a poster board in a visually appealing way. Search for information on the internet. Be sure to copy the URL information about the image. You may highlight-copy- and paste into a word document.

Poster requirements:

  1. Artist name, your name
  2. Portrait of the painter
  3. Biography Information- See attached
  4. Timeline ( this will include names of artists contemporary with the one you have selected along with major art movements and world events during the life of your selected artist.
  5. Select 5 artworks the painter is most known for historically (5 images with artworks correctly labeled)
  6. Narrative: Include why you selected this artist, a description of his/her style, why the artwork is successful, and what is it about this artist that inspires you? Paragraph form – taped on back
  7. Resource Page: Site 3-5 resources- Include proper documentation (MLA Format)

Considerations: Design your poster board so that it is visually appealing (be creative!) and be prepared to speak about your project and selected artist.
